Today we continued refining our organization when writing paragraphs of tone analysis using works of art. Today's subject was Otto Dix's "Annunciation," which provided a great deal of spirited discussion and some wonderfully thoughtful analysis about Otto's purpose in creating this piece.
Make Up work: Analyze the picture by noting down details. Use your tone words list to articulate your opinion about how the artist, Dix, feels about the Annunciation, Christianity, (or about Mary or the Angel). Write a 3-5 sentence paragraph of tone analysis that follows the following framework:
"Otto Dix uses detail to express his feelings of ________ toward/about __(The annunciation/Christianity/Mary/the angel)___. One detail he uses is ____. This detail expresses his _(use the same tone word from sentence 1)_ tone because ___(elaborate, or explain why_______."
You may hand in your completed paragraph on Monday or email it to me at [email protected]
